Mass modelling

These pages describe tests for recovering the gravitational potential from a set of points in phase space. The tests form a suite of increasing difficulty from spherical single component isotropic “galaxies”, to fully triaxial systems and disturbed discs. The first tranche of tests are pure collisionless systems with no observational error; future tests will include gas and realistic observational uncertainties.
